Hi, I want to invite my sister in law to visit our family (her brother and niece) in canada for about 4 months.

She is young, 20 and has no job, no house, no children, no bank account....no major ties to her home country (I mean, she's 20!). I will be writing a letter stating I will be 100% financially responsible for her stay. Will she be denied because of lack of strong ties to her home country? How do young, unestablished people visit in these situations?

I heard from someone that they can't deny immediate family members from visiting....Ie: if they are poor and all this, its not a good enough reason to deny them a visit to a brother, for example...

Thanks,

She is in her last year of high school and will miss the last few months.

There is no straight answer. You just have to provide all you could to support her application. Being in school might help but indicating taking off from high school for few months might actually hurt. Her citizenship and place of residency matters as well. Her previous travels may also matter.

does her being my sister-in-law coming to visit her brother (pending PR) make a difference at all though?

She has never travelled before. Just got her passport now. She is from Angola and lives with her mom currently.
