Hi,

I want apply for a PR and need to get nominated. I currently just finished grad school, and I might be moving to BC (or stay in Ontario) depending on where I get a job. I was thinking of applying for PR once I get a job and know where I'll live. However, in the interest of time, it would be better if I applied now. My question is: can I apply for PNP in Ontario even though I am not sure if I'll stay here? What happens if I move halfway through my application? Can they tell I have moved and reject my application? Additionally, can I apply for a BC PNP from Ontario or am I required to be present in BC?

Thanks!

Hello,

Applying through PNP is showing interest in working and living in that province. That is why province backs you up with Nomination Letter to send to CIC, in other words they say "we want this guy".

For CIC if u go through PNP, u need almost to show intention to stay in province. For example, i have a job in Saskatchewan and applied through SINP.

I agree that you grad student and go through grad stream and do not necessarily need job offer. In my opinion though applying at BC (or Ontario) and moving to Ontario (or BC) is fishy.

During PNP CIC does review of eligibility and background check.

I really do not wish u to get burned on those

Hope that helps

Currently, I would have around 480 if I did Express Entry, so that's why I believe I should get nominated (because the cut off is somewhere around 480). I just noticed that the PNP programs require you to attend post-grad in that particular province to get nominated, do you happen to know if that is strict? Otherwise, my only option is to stay in Ontario.

I applied through SINP, non-express entry. On my PNP letter it said non-express entry.

Will yours allow to apply through Express Entry?

If your CRS is at 480 then PNP is not much of your concern as you would qualify directly under FSW/CEC. Once you get PR you can move to any province you want in Canada regardless of where you were living during the application
