Hello,

I'm currently in Canada using a tourist eta.

I'd like to stay until late the 19th April, but I stated on the landing card under section "B" that I'd only stay 42 days which gets me to the end of March.

1) Can I extend my stay without doing anything?
2) If it is a problem, who do I contact?
3) How long does a tourist visa (eta) last? (Coming from UK)

Thanks in advance,

B

CHeck the stamp on your passport. It states until where you are allowed to remain in the country. If there is nothing in it, it means 6 months from the day you entered Canada.

You will have to file for an extension to your stay.

The eTA should state how long it is good for, this varies by person.

An ETA is valid for 5 years and not variable by person. Do not confuse an ETA which is authority to board an aircraft nothing else with a visa which can be restricted. Having an ETA is mutually exclusive to having a visa and only available to visa exempts, the OP is from UK so visa exempt.

No. Once approved, your eTA is valid for five years or until your passport expires – whichever comes first. You can come to Canada as many times as you wish as long as your eTA remains valid.
