Want to apply work permit while my mpnp in process

I file my mpnp in august 2014 still in process and status is in query and now i want to apply work permit from india so is that possible to apply.

if i file for the work permit , on the basis of my passport number can it show in the embassy that i already file for the mpnp

So is that possible to apply work permit while my mpnp is in the process
