Hi,
I want to apply for my dad to visit me for 3 months. Is it ok if he stays less than the indicated period in the application, like 1 month only? And does he have high chances to get a visa with 3 months ? He has mutiple trips done to Europe and back to his country. Thanks

It's best to be honest with IRCC.

If your dad has exceptionally strong ties + a strong financial situation in his home country then mentioning a visit of 1-3 months would not affect his chances of getting a visa approval.

His chances would depend on his personal/professional circumstances + his previous travel history (I'm assuming it was to Schengen countries) and how long he stayed in Europe on each visit + whether or not he can prove he has compelling reasons to return to his home country at the end of his 1-3 months' visit

He has a property, assets, family and a job. He stayed no more than 40 days in Europe. He has his old passport where he has 5 or more visas issued. Can I mention a range 1-3 months in invitation letter or I need to mention specific dates like from may 1 to August 1?
Thanks for your reply

It's not advisable to include a variable, uncertain length for his visit. As a visitor, he should indicate a well-planned visit of a finite duration.

I would suggest he mention a visit of no more than one month with a day-by-itinerary and expense estimates. By stating a one month visit, he would also prove he has strong employment ties.

He has a property, assets, family and a job.
You may want to prepare a cover letter as suggested here:

He stayed no more than 40 days in Europe. He has his old passport where he has 5 or more visas issued.
Do include a Travel History document for the last 10 years, reverse chronological sequence: Visa details + Entry/exit dates for each visit + Purpose of each visit + scan any valid visas
