Dear Members;

I'm new in this forum, and I wish to ask few questions.

My daughter studying her final year in the high school, she is studying IB Diploma , she is studying the IB international Diploma.
I want to apply for her next year in the University of Toronto, Fall 2013 .
and I want to apply for a sport Scholarship , as she is a Rhythmic Gymnastic gymnast in the National Team of Egypt, she won a lot of medals all her sport career since she was 6 years
and her final medal was in 2010 , in the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore, as she won the silver medal.

I want to know exactly what steps I should start with either by applying for study or by applying for the scholarship ?
Drawing your kind attention that I applied for Immigration to Quebec in 2010, and last month I had a reply that my file is under review, and they asked me some supporting documents.

what is the procedures I should start with and follow??
Many Thanks.

You need to start by applying for the school/study. Once she is accepted, you can then start looking into scholarships.

However I wouldn't count too much on receiving a big scholarship. Unlike the US, Canadian universities do not hand out large sports scholarships.

why don't you wait for your immigration process to over ... you will have to pay the local citizen minimum student fee in that case not the international fees. They might give you refusal based on the immigration process filed which happened to my parents when they wanted a visitor visa but rejected as the immigration was in process.

As SCYLLA said, Canadian Universities doesnt offer much scholarships, however your daughter is an youth olympic medalist which is a Big Thing! University might offer something good, I personally suggest you to email or call the university.
Also there is a slight risk in getting the study visa when you already have your PR filled, however i know somebody who got the study visa while their PR was in process, also your daughter in an youth olympic medalist, things should be in favor of her. Where ever you apply either to university for admission or for the visa to the Canadian Embassy, DO ATTACH HER CERTIFICATES FROM OLYMPICS AND ALSO ATTACH A LETTER WRITTEN BY YOUR DAUGHTER ADRESSING ALL HER ACOMPLISHMENTS, also make sure she has a decent academic record.

Cheers!

Thank you very much for your kind concern,
I think as you said, will let my daughter write an essay about her accopmlishments in sport, plus an advantage of her study an Ib Diploma,
Then can contact the University for the Admission including these documents, and wait for their acceptance.
I have to try, but do I have to mention that I applied for the PR ? or this is not necessary for this stage !!

Thanks a lot.

Yes, I can wait, but I should apply for the admission of the University max May 2013.
Thanks a lot.

For the University the information is irrelevant, your daughter is an international student for now. When you apply for the visa, there is an option in the form where you will have to tell that you have filed for your visa and can mention your file number.
