I applied for a temporary working permit in March 2014. I sign the contract with a company at that time. We went through the LMO, documents and medical exams.
I'm doing the application via online. They sent the documents to Ottawa after the medical exams and because my passport is from Portugal, then my visa office is in Paris.
I'm waiting for 5 months since I signed the contract and so far I can't work.
The CIC agents can't do anything about it. The french office doesn't have a way to contact anyone. Telephone or email are useless. CIC email doesn't reply and the consulate of Portugal in Canada is useless.
I've been trying to get a hold on anyone that could help me and no luck so far. The company doesn't know what to do and I'm giving up slowly on this.
If there is no way to contact an entity for help. If there is no way to check you application status. If I'm waiting for almost half a year to start to work. Then how can people do it?
Am I missing something here?
The estimated time for the process is 2 months (website information).......
After spending so much money in documents and medical exams, my hopes are coming to an end. Is this normal for everyone?
Is canada trying to make the process difficult for emigrants?
