Hi

My citizenship application had been submitted April 2013.
After checking with the CIC centre, the agent told me that my file had been transferred to the local office and I should receive the notice for the exam by the end of 2014.

My question is:
From now to the oath of the ceremony, can I live outside Canada?
For example, if I get a contract job in other country for 15 months, would it affect the application of my Canadian citizenship?

please ,can anyone share your experience or information.
thanks

if you are already RQed then no problem as you already provided your 4 years proof but if you have not received RQ then i dont recommend you living outside. so sometime pre test RQ can ease the pain as thats the last step of an application process. give some more detail about your eligibility

Residence questionnaire where CIC sends you a list of 5 pages questions related to your residence. you must provide all necessary documents that prove that you resided in Canada in the last 4 years. This includes bills, utilities, passport stamps translated in English, an exit/entry report from your home country for the last 4 years , Canadian border agency services report (CBSA) showing the dates of your entries to Canada in the last 4 years and many many other documents. I recommend you google it

wow..thanks. very important information.
May I ask that in what situation the CIC will ask for the residence questionnaire?
I have lived here for 5.5 years. Any chance that CIC will ask me to submit the residence questionnaire?

there are many reasons,
1. did you travel a lot during last 5.5 years?
2.did you work or study since you came to Canada?
....

I travelled few times, perhaps, in average , once/per year.
Besides, I did study in the past few years.

How do we know if they are going to send me the residence questionnaire or not?

no one really knows, In my opinion it's most of the time by chance. But there couple of things that might cause RQ.
For example one of my friends, she travels once per year before applying
She didn't work here, she studied the first 2 years and after nothing.
She received RQ.

But If you were busy all the time here with study or work, and you have the proof such as diploma, transcripts ( necessary) and were taking a vacation during this time, like 2 0r 3 weeks per year. you have more chance to not receive RQ.
you should not have any big gap in your residency. like 6 months here, 2 months there ....

before applying make sure you have more than 1095 days, at least 10 days more.
Translate all your stamps on your passport. ( only those with non-English stamps)

I suggest you to read and search this forum, you will learn many useful things.
