Your test will be on May 7th at 8:00 AM. Make sure you get there at least 15 minutes earlier.

Based on what do you think people here can help you and guess your test date???

Why is it that some people get snarky with others after they have completed the process successfully? Perhaps time to remember when you started the process and were a bit stressed.

Sometimes people ask questions just to release their own stress. Nothing wrong with lending a sympathetic. Remember the old saying, if you have nothing nice to say, dont say anything at all

Be kind to others, and others will be kind to you

It is because this website is becoming a place that everyone come here to spoon feed the information they need. Do you know HOW EASY it is find/open the spreadsheet for December applicants and see how many people got test invites? Why some one else has to go and search and provide this information to the OP? Also OP's application just started to be in process 30 days ago, what frustration are you talking about? People are waiting from 2011 for their citizenship .....

People are here to help each other. It is a community that support each other by providing useful information. But what is the purpose of asking something that no one can accurately help you? I think people should do some research / googling / do their due diligent before starting a thread.

That I accept, and politely pointing that out would be one way to answer. Another way would be to get snarky, talk down at them or being outright rude. Guess you were more comfortable with the latter than former.

Many a times I have found myself in a new city, and even with a map in hand cant find my way around. I am glad when a local steps forward and guides me. Of course, there are also people who look at me, see the map in my hand and roll their eyes thinking I am too stupid that I cant even read a map. Perhaps I am.

As you can see, the OP has only posted one post, which means this is her first post here. Perhaps she didn't know of the google spreadsheet. As I said you can have pointed that out to her gently, but you decided it be more fun for you to roll your eyes and make fun of her.

Good for you. Perhaps, now that you are a citizen, you are wiser than us all, and think everyone, even someone new to the forum, should know every thing you know. And if they don't you will make fun on them. How very (new) Canadian of you.

Sonia,

As has been eluded to, there is a thread for December 2014 applicants where you might be able to get more accurate information at

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/december-2014-citizenship-applicants-t253479.0.html

There may also be a December 2014 specific Google spreadsheet that is tracking applicants for December 2014. There is also one for 2014 at

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Au02r_J_VN90dHdrcDJyaWZYYW55d0hJMzJDNUFRaHc#gid=0

Please note that we don't know when you may get a test date, as that seems to vary a lot from CIC office to office. And of course, also depends on individual application.

You may notice that some people will get their test date before others, even if they have applied after them.

It seems that CIC process is moving faster than it was 2 years ago, but the officially stated timeline on CIC website is 2 years for normal application and up to 3 years for non-routine

Hope this helps

Ray

Ray, If you are in a different city and seems to be lost, I would gladly stop and help you. That's not being stupid. We have many tourists here in Vancouver and we all do our best to help them, that doesn't make you stupid or lazy. You can see my previous posts, wherever I thought that the question was legit and I could add anything to the topic, I did my best to help. That's one of the reason I have my time line in my signature so people can see and relate it to their case VS. people who just come here, get the information they need, and then leave without giving back anything to this community. We are here to help each other and learn from each other. But at the same time, I don't like helping people that they want to get whatever they want without even trying (aka. spoon feeding). If you want to stop and help a completely healthy homeless person (who can easily get a job and makes money), it is your choice. I prefer to to give my help to the people that actually need help (in this example, someone with disability for instance).

Again, people are different. You can be however you want, good for you...

By the way, not a citizen yet

In fairness to you, your replies on other threads are helpful and I appreciate them, because I know you help people. Hence I was somewhat surprised to read such a reply from you. Perhaps you are a bit stressed about your big day tomorrow and needed to let out some steam.

In your analogy, as you said you would help a disabled homeless person, but not an able bodied one. I am sure, while you may not help someone able bodied, you are decent enough to not yell, look down, talk down to that person. You will just simply walk by. The point I was trying to make, if you have noting good to say, better not to say anything at all....:)

Because of your great replies on other threads, I was taken aback. If it was from era1521, I wont have bothered, as he loves to jump at everyone. You on the other hand are very helpful.

The problem sometimes is that in society we get mob mentality. If you remember the Vancouver riots in 2011, where hooligans destroyed Vancouver downtown and decent people joined in that mob mentality.

As you can see, while you may be letting out some steam, mob mindset took over and Lux et Veritas and blueshirt joined in to ridicule a new member to this forum. A forum that has been very helpful to me and many others. Do you think this new member feel welcomed when 3 members jump on her? You don't know what's going with her. Is it too much to ask to be kind. If you don't want to answer, fine. But why ridicule? I am sure Lux et Veritas and blueshirt are very proud of themselves, hiding behind the anonymity of the internet, making fun of others.

Anyways, you dont have to agree with me and knowing your previous posts, I appreciate your help. Hope you continue to provide help.

Most of all, I wish you a great day tomorrow. It is a start of a new chapter in your life, congratulations. Let's not spoil that moment with this thread. Happy thoughts for the future

THANKS OP_POP TO TELLING ME ABOUT MY TEST DATE YOU ARE SO NICER.
Hi Sonia,

I hope you know OP_POP was being sarcastic (funny) when he said you will have your test on May 7th. You would receive your test invite at least 2 weeks prior to your actual test date. You sent your application only in December. I agree it sucks to be separated from family but there are people waiting more than 40 months to get their test/Oath scheduled. I have been waiting since Mar 2014 for my application to be finalized.

You are better off than most others and I wish you all the best to get your test and Oath soon.
