Waiting for PR Card

My wife’s Permanent residents visa will expire in a few months so she will need to fly to Canada without me, the sponsor. The plan is that she will arrive in Canada, get the Permanent Resident visa stamped and validated at the border, spend a couple of weeks with my parents and return to South Africa until we can tie up our affairs and all move back to Canada together.

My question is:

Does she need to stay in Canada until she has been issued her PR Card or will it be posted to my mom’s house who will then be able to send it to us in South Africa?

NO

That is very likely if she just gives the address and does not mention that she will be leaving Canada soon after her landing.
In rare cases, some IO's appear to have a problem with PR's leaving Canada very soon after landing).
