Hello,

So i've sent the complete application of extending my study permit on August 16th.
My permit itself have expired on August 31th.

So according to the tracking, they received my application on August 20th.
Everything is completed, i've checked like ocd 3x, got everything right, not planning to leave Canada soon, got the funds and everything.

But i'm starting to get worried because it's the September the 12th now and i still haven't heard a word from them.
I heard that in 20 days after my study permit expired, i need to leave Canada.

Please tell me what i should do, is there any chance that they rejected my application? what should i do if that happen?
please help guys, thank you

Did you apply online or by mail?
According to the CIC Processing Time Web Site, the processing of Study Permit and Extension applications is currently taking an average of 29 days for applications submitted on paper, and 28 days if submitted online. They are currently working on applications received on August 8/9 so it may be another week or so yet before they start working on yours.

Best of luck to you.

I forgotr to mention that my approved extension arrived in the mail EXACTLY 3 days after the processing time estimate passed (when I applied, the wait was 52 days and I received the permit on day 55).

Thanks for replying!

I'm just wondering though, since my permit already expired on the 31st August, what happens when i got the permit they rejected it? :(

i HOPE that it wont happen though, but can i immediately sent another application? because by the time i got the permit decision, it should be already the 20th sept and if i'm not mistaken i have a wait time of 20 days (?) after the expiration time to stay and try to get the permit and then i have to leave Canada

Thank you

Nope. i still haven't got it.
And it's been 62 days since they've received my application. I'm so stressed up and depressed and i'm getting more negative day by day.

My advice to you is to do it as fast as you can, because the waiting time is so unpredictable and long.
Cic is pretty much useless, i mean, they did help answering your question but that's pretty much all you can do with them.

Good luck with yours

Hey Cherr,
Apparently you sent your application by mail, not online, right? It says on the website that the processing time for mail application is 62 days. Hope you get yours soon. Update this post when you get it, ok?
Let's hope for the best!!

I swear that it was 32 days when i check (a few months back).
I don't really care how long should i wait for it as long as they didn't reject it

Will definitely let you know when i heard the news :)
