I and my comrades have been waiting for deployment and just recently we’ve been informed of the unfortunate development. Please note that we have already signed a contract with the Company in Canada last February 12, 2013 and have Temporary Foreign Worker visa/permit last October 18, 2013, and we have been advised to wait until the First (1st) Quarter of 2014 for the ticket/deployment.

However, due to some issues (eg. retraction of offers by the company due to project delays and pressure from Canadian government & client to staff with Canadians), we have no guarantee anymore to be deployed to Canada. It would be acceptable if we were denied nor rejected from the beginning. Sad to say, we've been waiting for a year for the contract signing, visa/permits, etc. We are jobless because we cannot accept other job offers locally or abroad, due to their request while they are still processing our visa. We have families and dependents. And the company only offered us CAD500$, not enough to compensate the time, expenses and opportunity wasted.

My question is, since the permit will expire on October 2015, would it still be possible for me to come to Canada and there should i look for new employer before it expires? or it's back to zero and I wait here in the Phils. for another LMO of a new employer? Hope you can help us of what could be the best option for our dream to work in Canada?

Thank you very much.

If your work permit is not open then you cannot work for any other employers. If its meant only for employer who retracted you then I am afraid you cannot just come to Canada and look for job coz you will go back to the very scratch. To find a lmo and apllied again from ur country of origin (unless u r from a visa-exempt countries). The trv allows you to enter Canada but doesnt allow you to work.

Sorry to hear ur situation.
