The most of important thing that we learn after applying for canadian immigration that how to wait for things in your life :))) kiding....It is little late and you should at least send them an email. and secondly if u have mentioned your email address at your application form then also keep an eye at your inbox and junk mails.

Bravoo

based on the times I see on trackitt, 2 months seem long.

Did you confirm that CIO received your application.?
Has your check been cashed?

I think you should try to call them and find out the status, 2 months is long time

I have come to know from this forum that people of who applied / whos application recieved by CIO by 12th May, have started getting approval thru email.
My application reached CIO on 13th MAY. hopefully some news should come next week.

Best of luck

On18th March 2009, I sent the Federal Skilled Worker immigration file under category 1 to Nova Scotia since then I didn't receive any reply from thier part,
I emialed them two days ago through below address and no reply
"FSW-Centralized-Intake-Office@cic.gc.ca" <FSW-Centralized-Intake-Office@cic.gc.ca>
I would appreciate your advice regarding my case.

They usually take 3-4 working days to reply normally. (CHC or Local Visa Office)

To be honest with you no one will be able to give you the exact answer and you need to know that the given email address of the CIO is unused for communications with them as they state in the AOR letter sent via email. As a result they will not respond.

The second thing you need to know is that according to the new rules for the FSW some cases will be returned and some will be put on hold for a while due to later considerations and some will be approved as in the minister's instructions i have seen these information about putting some applications on hold at this link :
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-blog/2008_03_01_archive.html

Actually i don't understand which kind of applications will be held for later considerations i know that applications which don't fall under one of the minister's instructions will be returned but i don't know which kind of applications will be held and why and for how long!

May be your aplication belongs to the group which they are going to hold it for a while!

What is your NOC ? another thing that might give you a clue whether they started processing your application or no, try to check with your bank if they have cashed your money (550$) or not yet ! because they don't cash the money if the processing has not started yet.

Huh you are quoting "olds" instead of news. I think it has been changed since November last year. Try to read the latest post in the same blog.
I have checked and try to understand the difference in processing time in CIO in the year 2009 from several forum and different sources : NOCs?, Time applied? DIY/Thru advisor? Local visa office? time of DD clearance and so .on........ BUT I cannot find any logic and a strong relation to one single factor. I am still studying other factors and will share if I found any.....
I started to send a e mail to the local visa office (without asking my consultant) chasing the progress although my consultant ask me to wait(they think it is normal).
For the time being with existing information, a probable reason for the difference in CIO processing time related to the attitude and the work efficiency of the staff handling the particular case as they start to evaluate the performance in processing time only from the issuing of file number after the initial assessment in CIO, so who bother to push in Sydney?

My personal opinion for reference only.
