Volunteered information on previous conviction, can I go back?

I had a DUI a few ago. When I went to cross the border, I was let into Canada without issue. I like to get my passport stamped when I enter new countries so I stopped into the immigration office to do so. They asked me a few questions and saw I had a previous, unrelated, arrest from many years ago, but I volunteered the information on the DUI. :-X They didn't have any record of the DUI. Upon me volunteering the information, I was forced to back to the US. Now, my work would like to send me to Canada for a business trip. My questions:

1) Since they didn't have record of the DUI, did they make record of it when I volunteered the information?
2) What would be the best way for me to check if I'm admissible into Canada?
3) If I'm not admissible, what is my best option for obtaining authorized entry?

Thanks for the help!
