Hello experts,

I am from China to visit my son in Toronto with my multiple visit visa.

My 6 months visitor visa is going expire in one month Jun 6. Visa extension is still processing, which applied on April 14th online. according to current processing time (80 days). it still needs 2 more months

I have three questions need your help.

1. I would like to stay 3 more month in order to attend my son 's wedding. so I wonder whether i could stay during application processing.

2. Is it possible to visit USA, then come back Canada? Does it count one more visit.

3. If I receive application rejection, do i have to leave Canada immediately? will it affect my future family sponsorship application?( My son will apply my sponsorship to Canada next year)

Thanks very much,

Hello experts,

I will assume your visitor status expires on June 6 and that your TRV is multi-entry.

No such thing as "visitor visa". Please use the correct terms so we can give you proper advise.

1. I would like to stay 3 more month in order to attend my son 's wedding. so I wonder whether i could stay during application processing.

Yes. You will be under implied status.

2. Is it possible to visit USA, then come back Canada? Does it count one more visit.

CBSA officers tend to frown at this, as you are basically trying to skip the extension's line, trying to outsmart the system. Possible scenarios:

1) You are allowed in and your extension is honored (so you continue as if you didn't leave at all).
2) You are allowed in and your extension is void. You are given up to 6 months as a visitor (can very well be less).
3) You are refused entry. (This is unlikely but it is always a possibility).

3. If I receive application rejection, do i have to leave Canada immediately? will it affect my future family sponsorship application?( My son will apply my sponsorship to Canada next year)

If you do not leave immediately then it will affect the sponsorship. If not then it is ok.
