Hi all,

Could someone pls provide info on list of questions they normaly ask and may be list of requirements when dropping an application to the embassy when visiting U.S.

May you all succeed in your pursuits.

Depending on the officer who interviews you, they are most likely to ask you about the purpose of your trip. They'll ask if you have relatives/family there, as well as where you'll be staying. They'll ask why you're applying for a visa from the office you're applying from (i.e if you're an int'l student studying in Canada and you applied for a US visa in your country of birth, they will ask you why you did not apply while you're in Canada. This happened to me - I study in Montreal and applied for a US visa when I went home for the Holidays, and I was asked why I did not apply from Montreal's US embassy). They will ask you how long you want to stay, and what you do in Canada (work, study, etc). They'll also ask you if you've been to USA before or if you've applied for a visa before.
As long as you don't lie, have enough $, and have sufficient proof that you WILL return to Canada, you have nothing to worry about.
Hope this helps.

Wait for at least an year otherwise it will probably be refused. I waited for an year and got it without any problem after that.

My Grandparents and uncle are american citizens, I think that kind of can help you but can go against you as well. It all depends on your personal case. There was one question which was asked by the interviewer to me as well as 3 of my friends and that is: What are your plans in Canada? When you answer this question, let them know that you have long plans ahead of you in Canada and that should assure them that you won't stay in US as an illegal immigrant. And I guess having close family their increase the chances of you being an illegal immigrant but it acts in your favor if your family history of vising US has been good. I thin the bottom line is that be confident in the interview, let them know why you are interested in visiting, don't stammer and you will definitely be alright. It's all about a confident voice and a nice set of reason for visiting US.

That will definitely help you because they know that you had a chance to stay there if you wished so but you chose not to and they will assume that you won't do so now either.
