Visitors Visa Whilst PR Application is in Progress

HI, it is possible to apply for a visitors visa to Canada whilst my PR application is being processed.

If I do, is the visa likely to be denied?

Also if I am successful in obtaining the Visitors visa can I apply for permission to remain in Canada until the processing of my application is complete?

Yes you can.
They won't deny you a visitor visa simply because you have a PR application in process. However they could deny you a visa if they think you have no intention of leaving at the end of your stay
