Hi

2 weeks ago my sister applied for visitor visa to Canada and she did mentioned in covering letter to consider this appliaction under CAN+ program as she travelled to Canada & US last summer on visitor visa.
Recently she did got 10yrs extension for US visitor visa and did scan the previous visa stamps in her new application for Canada visitor visa and mentioned that in travel history.

Please advise will CAN+ program expedite the visa processing or Canada no longer consider Indian applications under CAN+ program because I did hear that as the volume of applications is high from India Canada no longer consider applications under CAN+ program.

Thanks

It's really up to the visa office whether or not to process an application under CAN+ even if someone requests it.

As it's been two weeks already, it seems her application is not being expedited under CAN+

Hi Bryanna, how long did it finally take for your sister to get the visitor visa? I applied for visitor visa for family around 7-8 days back and still have not got visa. They need to travel in next 10 days so wanted to know how much time it is taking these days for visa to get issued.

Thanks

Hi,

My sister has never applied for a TRV because she is a US citizen :)

Did you and your family apply from India? Under CAN+? In any case, you have applied pretty recently. It would be best if you postpone your travel

Cheers

Thanks Bryanna for your response. I realize the question was actually for abc_123 who has applied for visa for her sister. I did not specifically stated for CAN+ even though my family has traveled to US in last 10 years and has valid US visitor visa.

However I did stated that I am in Canada and would like family to accompany during travel. Infact my sponsor company did provided covering letter in this regard. Will that make some difference?

The current estimated processing time for India applications is 25 days. I still recommend they postpone their travel.

Quite honestly, unless they have really strong ties/reasons to return, this would actually work against their TRV approvals as it indicates they are moving with you to remain in Canada on a long-term basis.

Nonetheless, I hope they get they get their TRVs soon

Hey don't worry :)

If they have provided evidence that you yourself will leave by first-week September then their chances of getting approved are significantly higher. If this evidence was not included, I recommend they send this through a CSE + email to the relevant visa office ASAP

Thanks Bryanna for your support .. I have stated clearly in covering letter that I will be staying in Ottawa and specified exact dates as well. So I am just hoping it should be fine..

one more question does it helps in faster processing if we try to send copy of tickets to visa office specifying that they need to travel soon, I guess it will not but just wanted to confirm on this.

What would work are proofs and not statements. I would send proofs that you would be leaving Canada by first-week September.

No, this will not help as processing time in their case has not crossed the 25 days stated on the IRCC website

Hi Bryanna, I have attached copy of Hotel reservations along with copy of invitation letter from my employer as well. Sorry I forget to mention about that earlier. Both of these mentions the same date upto which I will stay in Canada. Will that suffice as proofs?

Also I am thinking of taking a last chance by sending copy of my return tickets and family tickets to Canada embassy. You mentioned earlier that documents needs to be send through CSE + email. Can you please elaborate more on what do you mean by CSE, is this same as VAC? If not how I can send it to CSE? And what is the email address on which I will need to share copy of tickets?

Thanks for your support, its being very helpful :)

Your return tickets would help more than the hotel reservations. If these tickets are non-refundable, you should highlight this fact.

CSE is Case Specific Enquiry i.e. using the IRCC web form:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp

You can find the email address for the specific visa office on the IRCC website

finally I got the visa approval today for my family :-D .. and "final decision" has been set to "Your application was approved.".

I deposited by docs/passport in DELHI VFS office. Should I expect that I will receive them by tomorrow? I want my family to travel ASAP hence the question.

And many thanks for your help/suggestions so far, it was very helpful to go through this whole process.

That's great news :)

If you have requested the visa office to expedite the visa printing then it's possible to get their passports back in 1-2 days. If you have not included such a request, I suggest you email NDVO (with their flight tickets)
