Visitor's visa to WP inland?

Hi,

I am a software professional from India and want to work in Vancouver BC. As you know the special program for IT professionals has been extended till March 2011 for BC only. I am planning to come to Canada on a visitor's visa, look for a job and once I get an offer, apply for a WP. I am aware that the WP application has to be made from outside Canada, but can it be done in the US, so that I can just cross over and get it done? Or is it required that I come back to India just to get the WP done?

Also, as I already have a Temporary Resident Visa, do I need to get something else done after getting the WP?

Any suggestions to simplify the process would be highly appreciated.

Can be done in the US, so you can cross the border and go to Seattle and apply from there if you have a US visa. You'll get your WP once you re enter Canada after obtaining a Canadian TRV (worker).
