Hello,

I'm applying for TRV (visitor's visa) for my husband living in Bangladesh. I have few questions I'd like some clarification:

1) Do you have to notarize the supporting documents for TRV application online? If so, why do you need to notarize documents when it's actually scanned and uploaded...?

2) Is the UCI number I got from the submitted sponsorship application, applies to both me and my husband--do my husband and I share the same UCI number? Or will he get a different UCI number once his immigration documents are processed? (If we do share the same UCI number then it means that I should include this UCI number in application form...)

3) Is it alright that I'm putting through the trv application on his behalf from Canada (but he has full access to all login info and what not) solely because he doesn't have frequent internet access? FYI, he will be submitting the application himself from Bangladesh, however.

You're answers will be highly appreciated :)

Thank you!

1. No, you do not have to notarize documents for online TRV application. You do not even have to sign them. There is electronic signature process which you will go through after you upload all of the required forms.

2. The sponsorship application is just one application. You are the sponsor and your husband is the applicant. There are no two different UCI numbers....just one number for one sponsorship application.

3. Yes, you can apply on his behalf from Canada using online application. Ensure to fill up the "Representative" form. The Representative is a person authorized to advice or even submit an application on behalf of the applicant.

I hope that helps. Good luck.

You welcome. I'm happy to help.

Two more pieces of important advice:
1. If possible, submit proof of your husband's ties to his home country such as employment letter, document showing ownership of a house, car, land, etc.

2. Submit your own proof of income in the form of employment letter and/or bank statement.

Good luck.

IS IT POSSBLE FOR HER TO APPLY ONLINE?
OR CAN I APPLY HER ONLINE AS HER REPRESENTATIVE?
IS ANYONE OF YOU EXPERIENCE OR TRIED THIS LREADY?
HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE THE PROCESS? DID SHE NEED A SHOW MONEY?

PLEASE ADVICE.. THANK YOU..

2. Not true - UCI (Unique Client Identifier) by definition is unique to the client. Your husband and yourself will have two separate client numbers since you are two unique clients. There would be ONE file/application # but two separate UCIs. It was the case in my sponsorship application

She is NOT the client. Her husband is the "principle applicant" and therefore is considered to be the client. She is the sponsor.

To CIC, they are both clients. One is a sponsor, the other one is being sponsored. No need to get upset - I'm giving my opinion. I just sponsored my spouse and we were each given separate UCIs. So let's not give blanket statements as it might affect someone's application.

First of all, what makes you think I'm upset? Don't make assumptions. Secondly, read her original message and understand it. Giving her UCI number in the TRV application for her husband is same as giving his UCI number because they both point to the same application. The reason she needs to include UCI number in the TRV application is to prove she is sponsoring her husband and therefore, doesn't matter which UCI number she includes as long as it points to that sponsorship application.

You specifically said that there are "no two UCIs" - and that's not true.

Notarization is not a requirement but I got it done. It just gives a tone of seriousness to your letter. I got my invitation letter and an affidavit stating that my wife return upon expiry of allowed stay notarize. She got her TRV. So I'm assuming notarization helped. However, it's not a requirement.

My point was valid and accurate. This lady and her husband have ONE sponsorship application and therefore regardless of which UCI number they give, it points to the SAME application.

I reply to anyone giving misleading (not by choice - just by error) information. Just don't want anyone else's application getting hurt by someone's assumed information

What I told the lady is true. Regardless of which UCI number she includes in the TRV application of her husband, it points to the SAME spouse sponsorship application.
