Visitor's visa from Cuba

Hi everyone,

Not sure if anyone can help with this but if you can, I need your feedback!! We just invited my husbands mom to come for a visit from Cuba, and we were planning to have her land here beginning of July, so we can go back to cuba with her July 20th. From the CIC website, processing times are 8 days. She just went to the embassy to submit her papers and was told to come back to the embassy July 12th!!?? How does this make sense? From what I've heard, they usually contact you by phone to pick up your visitors visa?? so why would it be so late??

If anyone has any input please let me know what could have gone wrong!

The visa officers are on strike right now. Apps all over the world are being delayed.

No way!! I didnt hear about this!! this is concerning sponsorship as well as TRVs??
