Visitor's Visa for Parents

Hi,

I am applying for a visitor's visa for my parents to Canada. I am graduating from McGill in May and I want them to attend. My mother's first name is spelt differently on my passport. There is an additionally alphabet in her name on my passport but its missing from hers.

Will this affect the visa application? Is here a way to notify the immigration office about this? Or add an additional letter to the application explaining the situation?

Please help with any info.
Thanks

Many, maybe 99%, of passports don’t list parents’ names at all.

Use the name in HER passport.

If you really want to, you can list the spelling in your passport as an Alternate Name/Alias in the application form, but it’s not necessary because this is a super minor and irrelevant detail.
