Hi,

I need urgent help on appealing my visa rejection. I recently applied for a visitors visa to Canada to Visit my family, My girlfriend (who I've been with for over a year and intend to marry) and her family as I have never met them.

I summited all my documents and financials. I'm 25 yrs and have a business and family in the country of residence. The immigration officer rejected my application reasoning that they are not satisfied that I will return to my country at the end of my visit, and the decision came due to the following;

1. purpose of visit
2. period of visit
3. financial and asset status
4. travel history

Now my issues is;

1. I gave them a true reason that I am visiting my family and girlfriend and her family. What else should have I said??

2. I requested to stay a month and a half; over christmas and till the end of Jan. Thats very little time as I'm visiting my family after 8years isn't it??

3. I had enough finance to support my trip and pay for my ticket. I'm 25yrs, how much more of an asset would I honestly have??

4. I travel to a few countries in the middle east for my business one or twice a year. Isn't that enough??

Please help and advise on how I should appeal this rejection!!

Thank you

Unfortunately there's nothing you can do except try to address whatever concern they put in the refusal letter, and apply again. There is no way to appeal the refusal of a visitor visa.

Most likely they believe you will stay in Canada, due to your serious relationship with your girlfriend. Unfortunately the fact that they now know about your relationship means you're unlikely to get approved for a visitor visa. If you intend to marry her and move to Canada, the best thing to do would be to get married (she will have to visit you) then apply for spousal sponsorship.
