I want to know that if parents are in Canada on Visitor Visa. They gave the Birth to Child in Canada.
Is Baby will be a Canadian? Babby will get Canadian passport?
if baby will be Canadian and when parents will be Canadian?
This question has been answered so many times on this forum.
1)any baby born in Canada is automatically a Canadian citizen
2)the parents as visitors must be prepared to pay medical costs in the range of 5-10000 cdn for a straight forward birth and more if any complications.
3)as visitors the parents may or may not be allowed to stay in Canada for up to 6 months from time of entry. If CBSA determine the parents are not genuine visitors but only here to give birth the authorised stay could be less than 6 months or worst case simply put on first flight out.
4) having a baby in Canada gives the parents no settlement rights or citizenship rights at all, so the parents must leave Canada at the end of their authorised stay .
The child cannot sponsor parents for permenant residence until the child reaches 18 and then assuming the child is in Canada at that time, even then approval is not guaranteed.
5) no idea which country you are from but be aware although Canada does allow it some countries do not allow dual citizenship something to keep in mind when returning to a home country.
