Dear Sir/ Madam,

Good Morning!! Hope all is well with you all.

A Quick Question....

Both myself and my spouse are indian citizens holding a valid Canadian PR CARD. Our daughter is an US Citizen holding a US Passport, but don't have a canadian PR. We would like to get migrated to Canada in the next 2-3 months. We all would like to go there and start the PR sponsorship application (for my daughter) from there. May I know the type of visa that I would need to get for my Daughter (1 Year old) to take her over there on my move ? I believe, when applied (on sponsorship category) from canada (while my daughter in inside canada), it would approximately take 1 year to get her PR. So, what would be the visa i need to have her on till that time, so as to have no legal issues.

I assume that, using Visitor visa she can be inside canada only for max of 4 months. Please, kindly advice. Thank You.

Warm Regards, Geo

Hi George,

As your daughter hold US passport she can accompany you without a visa for Canada. While entering at POE you can tell he officer that you will file sponsorship application for her. If your daughter is allowed as visitor for short period, you may consider traveling to Buffalo or to your nearest US city which may work for another visit (???). But I am not sure how the Canadian boarder office treat such entries.

The safest method is either you or wife ( I know it would be difficult for a mother to leave the child and stay in Canada ) should be present in Canada for filing the sponsorship papers for the child.
