So since my visa runs out on June 16th i am going to apply for a visitor visa until i hear about whether or not i will get an ITA. Does anyone know if I'll have to leave the country once my visitor visa is approved? Or can i stay where i am?

Are you able to work as a visitor? I dont think so but I could be wrong. I dont live in Canada and i just submitted my eAPR yesterday. Was wondering if I could apply for a visitors visa and job hunt and then flagpole to land.

You can certainly visit and apply for jobs, attend interviews. Being present will make it easier for sure. However, you cannot work until PR and you may find it tricky for companies to want to interview you while there's uncertainty about PR. It depends on your profession and the demand really as to whether you can put in good groundwork by being here.

Do you reckon there can be a high chance of visit visa refusal when PR is underway?

No you cannot work if you are on visitors visa. But apply for and start for job hunt, recruiters will ask for status though

As a Brit you don't need a Visitor Visa, you can just jump on a plane and get a 6 month stamp. That's your visitor status. It's the same as coming on holiday or staying with relatives/friends whatever you want to do.

After 6 months are up you can apply for a visitor extension in-country and briefly explain why you want to stay longer. Last time I just said I wanted more time in Canada as a tourist. Simple.

You could always book a return flight with flex to adjust/ cancel so that you're showing your intention to leave and make sure you have sufficient travel insurance and you're all good. No one will stop you visiting!

PR and the visit visa are independent of each other. Last year when I got ITA I applied for visit visa, with a reason to visit my ultimate destination. I got for myself and family multiple entry visit visa until the expiry of our passports.

I know someone in this forum who applied for a Canadian Visitor Visa while his PR application was in process.
He got his visitor's visa approved in 14 days.
