My parents are visiting me from india on a V-1 visa, should they go through the immigration officer and get a visitor permit similar to how i got my work permit ?

During the port of entry there would a initial verification followed by a visit to Citizen ship and immigration office where we obtain the work permit, there would be a series of questions asked there.
do my parents have to visit the Citizenship and immigration office ? or can the come to baggage are post verification ?

Your parents must simply go through border clearance.... typically answer a few questions (like purpose of their visit, for how long are they visiting, etc)..... and then collect their baggage.

Your parents won't get visitor permits. Their passports will be stamped with an entry stamp

In most cases, only one short interview with a CBSA officer for border clearance, as Bryanna described. They will not need to go to the separate office.
And if they answered "yes" to any of the customs declaration questions, they may be forwarded to a secondary screening for customs.
