Visitor Visa to Work Visa after Marriage in Canada

Hello everyone,

I will travel to ON as a visitor on June. I have a return flight on Aug but I plan to stay longer for me and my long time bf to get marry. He is a skilled worker and as a spouse (after marriage), I will eligible to apply for Spousal Open work permit. I would like to ask if anyone of you here has the same experience? If I will be allowed to saty for six months, I have plans of extending it to accomodate the process of Open work permit application.

1. Once you are married, only then can you apply for a spousal open work permit.
