visitor visa to return to Canada from Buffalo

Hi,

I am currently on a PGWP. My visa which I received with my study permit has expired. I never knew i had to apply for a another visa until a week back. I wanted to travel to buffalo by road and come back within the same day. As an Indian citizen, Do I need a visitor visa for that? Can someone who has travelled in the recent past let me know their experience with this.

Any TRV from Canada doesn't allow you to enter the USA. You need a TRV for the States, nothing to do with Canada.

I have a visa to the US already. I am asking about my return to Canada. I want to go to Buffalo by road and return within that day. My visa that I received for my study permit expired earlier this year but my work permit is valid till next year. so can i return back into canada with just my work permit or is it mandatory to have a visitor visa? I knew in the past it was allowed but im unsure if there are any new rules and I do not want to take a risk until I'm absolutely sure the same rules apply at present.

A work permit is not a visa, you need a valid TRV to enter Canada. You need to apply for a new TRV.
