Hi all,
I am going to get married in Canada and was applying for a visitor visa for my sister in law.
She has a 5 year EU Family member residence card in the UK (which gives her the right to live and work in the UK) and she also has a pre-settled status under the new EU-citizens regulation (Brexit).
The invitation letter from her relatives in Canada states that they would be arranging for her accommodation and providing full financial support and that her sole purpose of the visit is the wedding.
However, she depends on my brother (husband) who is unemployed at the moment. But he will be travelling to Canada with her with an eTA (approved). And she or he doesn't have anything to show in his bank account. My father, however, would have a bank account with some savings, but back in Italy.
She is, at the moment, a Pakistani Citizen. Whereas, the rest of us are Italian citizens living in the UK.
Some further information about her: she doesn't hold any degree or title and is a simple house-wife. Of course, she has never worked before.
So here are my questions:
1) Should I attach my father's bank statement? Or ask her Uncle in Canada (PR) to provide Proof of Financial Resource of Supporter?
2) What can I do to improve her chances of getting a visa?
The thing is that she is, in theory, definitely going to be a permanent citizen in the UK (although actually, she is not). As EU citizens living here get PR in 5 years without any rejection, especially now with all the Brexit stuff... She has also an Italian visa. Would these facts make her application strong? I mean, Canada and the UK are at a similar status, and I don't see why anyone having legal status in one, would want to become illegal in another one...
What do you guys say? Does her application stand any chance of being approved?
