visitor Visa to Canada from Abu Dhabi Embassy- Advice!!!

Hello, wondering if anyone has applied through the Abu Dhabi embassy for a visitor visa to Canada. My husband applied on July 15th and we're still waiting for a reply! Does anyone know if the visa isn't approved would it have happened by now. As his wife ( Canadian Citizen) , I live in Abu Dhabi and have been visiting family in Canada since June and was hoping my husband could join me for 10 days at the end of August before I travel back to Abu Dhabi. My parents wrote him an inviation letter, and his work provided him with statments reagarding his position/salary/and vacation time....he also provided in the application package bank statements and our rental agreement for the next year in AD!! Any advice from those who have applied through the Abu Dhabi embassy!!

Usually I wouldn't be panicking, but as I have my ticket booked back to AD for September 5th, and my husband stated on the application form he wanted to travel on August 25th. So it would be nice to have gotten a relpy by now...maybe we'll be lucky this week Thanks again.

Hello Ryzriela, it all depends on how much you have in your bank account. The bank statment is to showcase that you have ties to AD and will return. Keep in mind that what you show them in bank statements is different then the amount of money you intend to take with you to Canada during your visit / and that all depends on how long you will visit Canada .

I had applied with family with two childrens on 8th Feb 2012 and till date my application is under background checks at Abu Dhabi. I had a good travel history with Canada,UK(Ten Year Visa),Schenghen Visa(4 times),Australia,New Zealand. We are settled in Dubai with all my family members working here from last 30 years. Even my wife passport was expiring in Dec 2012, I renewed and sent them a copy. Hope for the best anyhow i had to change my trip to next year.
But i can;t understand that a visa may take this much time of almost 8 months completing.
