Visitor visa staying period

my mom is in the country for 5 months now. Her visa is valid till 2021.
My question is can she leave the country and come back after a week to stay for another 5-6 months?

Just apply for an extension. Avoids the risk of being refused entry at the POE.

I just want to make sure that she will be fine entering Canada again after a week or so of being away.

It's quite risky returning after just a week for another 5-6 months. If and how long she is allowed back into Canada is up to the CBSA officer she encounters at the border. So the short answer is that there is no way of saying if she will be fine or not. Generally speaking, we'd recommend that she remain outside of Canada for 5-6 moths before attempting another long visit.

The law states that it is entirely up to the CBSA officer if and how long she is allowed back into Canada.

Plus on another post you had mentioned you had applied for a open work permit for her, which could come into play for someone returning back to Canada as a “ visitor “, so soon after leaving

Still can't figure out how she qualifies for an open work permit. Maybe a closed work permit with an LMIA but open?
