Hi everyone, I got rejected for a visitor visa last week. I am an Indian student currently studying in Australia, I am doing Master's here and have got two-semesters left. This is what I received in the rejection letter,
You have not satisfied me that you would leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident. In reaching this decision, I considered several factors, including:

travel history
I have no travel history so in this case, there is not much I can do.

immigration status in the country of residence
This is the main reason I think I got rejected. My student visa in Australia expires on 30th August however I would need another 6 months to complete my course and for which I will apply for a student visa extension.
This time around I would be attaching documents from my Uni stating the duration of the course left, I have got lease papers for my rented apartment and the employement letter from my employer. Please suggest any other docs that could help?

Purpose of visit
I attached an invitation letter from my brother who is a permanent resident of Canada, in this letter he mentioned he had a baby and would like me to visit them in June. He also mentioned that he will take care of my living and other expenses for the duration of my stay (1month). I also attached my return flight ticket and a cover letter.

Personal assets and financial status
At the time I applied I had $11829 in my savings accounts, I attached 3 months payslip and 6-month bank statement. I am currently working 20 hours a week with two companies and earning around 2K excluding tax.
I don't have any assets back in India but I think financial I am not doing that bad here in Australia.

You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can demonstrate that your situation meets the requirements. All new applications must be accompanied by a new processing fee
  1. Sincerely,

I would be applying again pretty soon, any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

IMO, immigration status in country of residence instead means you are comfortable being away from your home country, especially when you originally come from a developing nation. You just said yourself you have more ties in Australia than India...it’s unfair, but Canada expects you to seek similar opportunities there, hence the rejection. I do not expect a second application this soon, under the same circumstances, to be successful.
