Hi All,

I am a Brazillian girl who is currently living Ireland on a study visa which is up in November. I was recently refused for Visitor Visa to Canada. I applied for this from Ireland. I wanted to go and stay with a friend for a month in Toronto. She is a Canadian Citizen and provided me with an Invitation Letter. After my month in Canada I had planned to return to Ireland where I have a job and resume studying.

I provided Canadian Immigration with the following:
-Invitation Letter,
-Canadian Birth Certificate and passport of the person providing the invitation letter,
-Bank Statements,
-Letter from my employer in Ireland stating that I when I would be starting work with them again,
-Passport Scan,
-Cover Letter with my Canadian Itinerary,
-Other relevant forms.

They refused with the following reasons:
-travel history,
-immigration status in country of residence,
-personal assets and financial status.

My main question is do you think if I book my return flight, book and pay for my course and get my visa approved for another year that they will approve?

Other questions are:
-Would I be better if I applied from Brazil?
-If I booked and wanted attend a course in Canada, would they still refuse me?
-Would I be in a position to apply for a study visa for Canada even though I had a Visitor visa refused in the last month?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

When did you applied? And when they refused you the visa can you show your timeline.

And I think if you renew your study visa and take the latter from your university to prove that you're statying.

And try to reduce your stay

What about your personal assets and financial information?
I provided my previous payslips and bank statements and savings. No assets except for savings.

I applied 3.5 weeks ago. They refused me 5 days later.

You'll probably increase your chances of refusal if you try the short course thing. CIC will see right through this and know you're not a genuine student.

Exactly how much did you show in savings?

I earn around €1700 per month and I had around €5000 in savings.

Since you cannot fix your travel history, the key is to provide strong support for the remaining factors.

You will need to ensure that your status in Ireland where you reside does not raise any question as to your ability to return to Ireland. You will also need to shorten your trip, $5,000 euros is far from what IRCC is looking for regarding a month, especially since all the documents you provided are reservations that are unpaid (course in Ireland, Plane Tickets, Hotel). Once those are paid it is unlikely that you will have much remaining in your bank account. Unless you can show stronger financial assets, it is unlikely that you would be approved for anything close to a month.
