Visitor visa reconsideration

My uncle, aunt and their minor son applied for visitor visa with hotel bookings and itinerary on 25-12-2018 however, it was refused on 07-01-2019.

Reason for refusal : Not enough funds to support in Canada and less personal assets.

We immediately sent a reconsideration request to CPC-Ottawa because we had demonstrated around CAD 60,000 in savings, fixed deposits, post office accounts and current accounts.

We attached all documents again with email as visa officer may have skipped those.

On 18-01-2019 we received an email, that our reconsideration request is under review and we should keep checking MyCIC account for further updates.

My question is, Is it possible that they will reconsider the application and refusal be turned into approval? Have there been any such successful cases before?

It is possible. There was one such case last year

Yes, just one that was posted on this forum. And, even that one didn't seem convincing.

A reconsideration is considered only in specific situations when there is an obvious error in the decision if the evidence submitted was not considered. Reconsideration is NOT an alternative to reapplying if new evidence/change in circumstances needs to be submitted. That's why most applicants tend to reapply

hi @Tapnoor, what’s the outcome of your reconsideration request? I’m in the same situation and looking for options. What’s the email id you send to?
