Hello senior members,

I wanted to ask if I provide invitation letter to someone (not family member) for their visitor visa application to Canada and upon their arrival to Canada they do not return to their home country (by trying to convert visitor visa to work visa through lawyer) - would I be putting myself in adverse situation?

Given I would be offering invitations to my any near and dear ones who wish to visit us in future.

Please share your thoughts on this matter.

Thank you

It won't impact you personally but it could negatively impact people you invite in the future.

Hi, I am new to this forum and have questions related to visitor visa.
I live in Canada with my husband as a PR and it's been 2 years already. I wish to bring my mother here for 6 months so that she can help me with my pregnancy. She is in India and basically a house wife and so no proof of funds. She is dependent on my father and brother there. Myself and my husband work here and have good income and so we can take care of all her expenses until she stays here
If I apply for a visitor visa for my mother will there be any complications as my reasons are genuine?
Thanks

Please go through this forum you would find very much detailed information how to apply for visitor visa.
Tips - I would recommend to not mention in your invitation letter you want your mother to be here to help you during pregnancy. Visa officer may consider this as unpaid work which a visitor is not allowed to do.

In your invitation letter you can mention you would be incurring all her trip expenses

Also you strongly need to show her strong tie to India, indicating why and she will return to India before visa expires.
