Visitor visa query

Hi all,

I had a question. If a passport is about to expire next year in September and we apply for visitor's visa, then what would be the validity of the visa? Generally they give it for 10 years I have heard but in my case how much would it be I'm wondering.
Can you all please guide...

Canada does not issue TRV beyond validity date of the passport. So in your case the TRV if issued would have the same validity date as that of your passport.
