Visitor visa processing time - should I be worried?

Hello

I am currently living in Canada as a visitor with my Canadian common-law partner since Sept 2009 awaiting my PR application results. I have been extending my visa every 6 months via mail. Due to processing times I have been under implied status every time but never for more than a couple months. I sent off for my last extension in February 2011 (the current extension expired in March). Usually I would have received a reply by now, but i just checked the Canadian Immigration website and current processing time is 160 days and they are working on November 2010 applications right now. Its pretty crazy, at this rate i'm not going to receive a reply til around August. Should I be worried about being under implied status for that long? It's ridiculous. I guess next time i should use the online application as it seems faster.

i am also having the same problem with you by now. I have been in Canada since last Sept (28 Sept 2010) and my visa stamped expired on Mar 28 this year 2011. I had applied to extended my visa 2 months for another 3 months before it expired (31 Jan 2011) and until now (May 2011) I still haven't received any news from CIC. Another worry is that I've just got married with a Canadian last month (23 Apr 2011) and my hubby is arranging all paper works to sponsor me here. But the most important thing now is I need to know how my status is in the country so that he can go ahead to apply the application in time. I really urgently need to apply for extension of my visa for another 6 months to wait for the application news but so worry what to do now? If anyone knows or had passed the same experience, please help me to answer this question as soon as possible.

its really surprising that u didnt get your result yet ... did u call to CIC for asking your applicaion status... if not u can call them and ask 1-888-242-2100..
and dnt worry u r on restoration period till 28 june...
