Visitor visa Online process from USA?

Can someone please explain the online process? I want to apply for my Mom who is in US and is visiting me in USA from India. I started the online application, uploaded all documents, and it asks me to pay the visa fee and the Bio-metrics fee together.
1. What is the process after the online payment is made for visa and Bio-metrics?
2. When and how can I take the Bio-metrics appointment?
3. Do I have to mail the passport to VAC in New York? If yes, when?
4. What other steps am I missing?

Any help will be appreciated. She is planning to go to Canada on June 01, 2019. At this point, I am not sure how long this process will take if I start this on March 11.

With an online application you can actually follow the process on the online account. You will get all the instructions from the account, including biometrics and passport request. You can also check processing time on cic web https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...vices/application/check-processing-times.html just to get an idea of how long it can take.

From the US, I'd say eliminate the middle step of VAC. IRCC are incredibly slow as it is, no point in adding a middle step that will just forward the mail. Also when you send your passport directly, at least you can track the Fedex ID (I'll be very surprised if VAC tell you when they send things). Also instructions to send your passport are overly and unnecessarily complicated with VAC (like payment goes to one address while your passport goes somewhere else). Just apply online directly.

For Biometrics, if you never gave them since July, they'll send you a letter to take to your local USCIS's ASC service.
