Hello,

I'm at US and wants to visit Canada. My parents are also at USA. I need to apply for 'Visitor Visa'. I noticed that online visa application is acceptable. So while applying online, there is an option to add 'Family Member'. Family member is defined as closest relative and CIC defines it as spouse, Common-law partner, dependent child, etc. But does not mention about parents.

So, my question is - Can I include my parents in online visitor visa application? Has anyone tried this before?

Thanks for your help,
Ketan

Yes, you can.

How Visa is stamped?
Do I need to send passport once online application is approved? OR I'll receive electronic clearance/Visa?

That.

Some more questions:

Once online visitor visa application is approved,
1. Can I appear in person at VAC (e.g. New York) with passport for quick visa stamping?
1-a: IF yes, can I carry all family member's passports for visa stamping at VAC (without bringing family members)?
2. Is it mandatory to send passports to VAC for visa stamping OR passports can be stamped at the border (e.g. crossing border at Niagara fall NY USA)?

Thanks for your help,
Ketan

VAC does not stamp passports, neither the border.

You should ask your VAC for specifics. VAC is a third party to CIC.

All these questions are answered on the FAQ page of the US VAC website:

I received a request for passport.
Passports submitted to Visa Office (via NY VAC) yesterday. Anyone know how long it takes to have passports returned from Visa Office? NY VAC keep saying 10-15 days as STD time.
