Visitor Visa need advice!!

Hello Guys,

I need your advise here.My mother got visitor multi visa for 2 years.She entered canada in 30th november 2015.She is gonna stay here till May which is 6 months.So if she needs to stay longer,can we go for example Cuba for 7 days and come back,will it works or I have to apply for extention?

You can certainly try - however there is no guarantee she will be allowed back in and for how long. The CBSA officer may be concerned that she is trying to use the TRV to live in Canada.

If her primary objective is to stay in Canada longer, then she would be better off applying for an extension to her visit from within Canada (the extension application must be received by CIC before her current visit expires - she will then have implied status and be able to legally remain in Canada until she receives a decision on her extension application).

But if she goes back home and comes back again in 4 months for example, will it be considered that she wants to live in Canada?OR she has to wait for 6 months to come next year?
