Visitor Visa-Mother in law

Friends,

My mom-in-law is planning to visit us for 3 months.

Need help with few questions:

a.From whom should the invite letter go from? Me or my wife
My wife is not working(no monthly income)

b.My mom-in-law can't understand english. Will it impact her chances for approval considering this is one of the questions in IMM5257

a) your mother in law will be staying at your home so you can send the invitation letter. your letter will be equally good as your wife.
b)language has nothing todo with visit visas. just answer the question truthfully. even in canada there are whole provinces whos residents don't understand or speaks english. so relax it is just a question which may be useful for them incase of some other applicants category (as the same form is also used for other category visitors like business, transit etc which may require interview or an interpreter etc.)
