Visitor visa issues only for six month rather than until expiry date passport

Hello friends ,

My parents get visitor visa for only six months although they have validity on passport for 2-4 years . Can anyone share there views why visitor visa issued only for 6 month Rather then till the end of expiry date of passport?

Why would you expect longer than 6 months it is never guaranteed to be longer and some people who ask for even 6 months can get refused in many examples. If they are to be allowed in for 6 months it is still at discretion CBSA on landing and dependant on immigration interview at POE

The validity of a TRV depends on the assessment made by the visa officer.

If the visa officer believes the applicant has strong ties to his/her home country + genuine reasons to visit Canada in the future + if s/he has immediate family who is a PR/citizen.... then a TRV may be granted for for the duration that the visa officer believes is appropriate.... or in some cases, even up to the full validity of the passport

If you are on Work Permit, Your parents will get visa until your expiry date of Open Work Permit.

This visa was on the basis of pregnancy help.
I am permanent resident of Canada.
Most of my pregnant friends mother got visa until the expiry date of the passport .

Require accompany from Delhi to Toronto

My parents belong to jat Sikh family from Khanna,Punjab,they are unable to speak English ,
They will visit me to Canada from India probable in June in June or July , 2016 and return around November .
