Visitor visa in case of no major ties back home

Hi ,
My father wants to apply for a tourist visa from India , but I have some doubt.
The visa chances will depends upon the connection at back home (like job , children etc) .My father is a retired govt employee and no dependent children in India.All the ties he can show is the house and land he owns there.Do you think that there are any chances to get the visitors visa to Canada for him??

Because he will come here to meet me (just for 1-2 months) , so I will be sponsoring him . Even I came from India to Canada on Jan 2010 on study permit . Currently from the past 7 months I am working on a post grad work permit with bell mobility as a technical support engineer. My work permit is expiring on Dec 2011 .So do you think I can act as a valid sponsor ??

The VO, is the person that will decide, everyone else will be guessing.
Even if someone had a visa issued in similar circumstances, everyone's case is different, so no guarantees.
