Visitor Visa From The Philippines

Hello everyone

im new to the forum and i just wanted to say thank you for having a great place to find allot of useful info now i have a few questions for you all and i hope you can help me out ? , i'll start off by giving a little back ground and then ask my questions

im a Canadian citizen and i have been in a long term relationship with my fiancee for about 10 years now we havent got married because we have to get a annulment in the Philippines before that can happen , we have a lawyer starting on everything now so hopefully this will be done this year , we have never tried for a visitor visa for her to come here quite frankly its easier for me to go there but we have decided to give it a shot this year !, i have been doing allot of research on the requirements and such but still would like to know other peoples opinions and options from other Filipinos who have come here as a visitor before !! so my questions are :

proof of ties to the Philippines : i think we have allot of proof of why she will go back home she has 2 kids there and she has her house there and has a stable job that she has been working at for almost 3 years now and also has worked for the asian development bank in Manila in the past , plus with this pending annulment case she will have to be there for the trial also i was thinking about asking the lawyer to write a letter for her stating that she does have to go back to attend court dates do you think will be enough ties back home to prove she will return ??? she has talked to her bosses and they will write a letter stating her job title and that she has the time off approved this is both her supervisor and president of her company

saving aka money in the bank : this is where we might run into some problems she really doesnt have much of that in her account im supplementing her income and helping her out but that goes to pay the bills , i know you need at least 150 k to 300 k (pesos) my question on this is : if i state that im covering all the expenses in the letter of invitation that i will cover everything including the airfare and and her spending money and send it before she apply s for the visa will they look down on this ???

do we need to actually book and pay for a flight before we apply for a visa or will just a confirmation with an itinerary be fine ?? i also plan on her getting travel insurance before she apply s as well or should we buy a refundable ticket

Being that were engaged will this cause her to get her visa denied ?? or should i have my brothers partner invite her because they have know each other for years as well !!! would it be easier this way ?

im sorry this is kind of long winded and im sure i will have more questions as i think of them LOL i really look forward to hearing back from you all ! especially the Filipinos who have come here !!

Good day to you all , does anyone think we have a good chance of getting a visa for her ? i know it is hit or miss sometimes depends on the VO and the documents you provide to them !!
also does anyone have any info on the approval rate for tourist visas from the Philippines i searched and couldn't come up with any info !!

Hi, this is just my opinion and as we all know, its always the consular officer's call.

In order for her to get a visitor visa she must cover evidences in the following areas:

Travel: A good travel history to any country with visas has pretty good chance of getting approved.
Family: You mention she has kids in the Philippines, that should be enough reason to comeback
Financial: if she does not have enough money for travel , a travel sponsor like a friend or her other relatives can assist her with that. It would include invitation, bank accounts, house ownership, income tax -- of the sponsor should be provided in the application.

However on her/ applicant's part , as an employed individual, she needs to submits, income tax return (ITR), bank accounts, payslip , properties, car ownership etc.

Like I always say, she just needs to try and overcome the presumptions of every consular officers.

i just have a follow up question i hope you could answer this ? would it hurt her application if were engaged ?? or should i have my brothers partner invite her because they have known each other for years ???

as for coming back to the philippines yes she will because she will be starting an annulment case this year as well as her job to come back to and the kids ! as for her travel history that could be a problem because she hasn't traveled outside of the country !!

now as for the travel sponsor if i or my brothers partner did that would our letter of invitation have to be notarized with a solom declaration we will make sure she leaves ?? or could multiple people send a letter of invitation ? is that a benefit ???

were going to get ready to start the paperwork soon im hoping she can be here the middle of may for 1 month to a month and a half and yes your right all we can do is try its not allot of money for the visa so if its rejected we can just try again !! im looking forward to hearing back from you !!

i have another question i have made my letter of invitation and im getting ready to send it with proof that i can cover her expenses i can do this i know on my salary but i have no savings in my account will this matter much ? and if i send my current pay stubs to show how much im making do you think that will look favorably ?? im semi supported by family who are semi retired and want a place to stay when there in my city , also im planning on scanning my t4 from last year but it doesnt show a huge earnings will this be a problem ?? please someone get back to with some advice thanks for the time !!

Hello, I've been to Canada with temporary resident visa from the Philippines and I did not encounter any problem. My first application is a single entry TRV and just recently, my multiple entry visa was approved until the expiration of my passport which is in 2017. I just submitted my service record from my current employment, then a bank account certification with only around 170 thousand, credit card recent bill, a certification that I am still currently employed then the most important is a letter of invitation stating that you will shoulder her airfare, board and lodging and other incidental expenses, bank account certification of the person inviting her to prove his financial capability and thats it. Then you can file through visa application center, you just download all the applications forms and call the visa application center for the schedule of pick up of your application then after one month, the approved visa will just be mailed back to you. Hope my experience will help you.

Congratulations!
I am also a TRV applicant in the Philippines.
My application has been picked up yesterday and I am very hopeful for the approval. In your post, you said that the processing of your application took 1 month? I thought that the processing is only for 14 days?

My target date of travel is on March19-Apr05. Like you I am presently employed and I have submitted all the documents that they might need in connection with my TRV application.

May I know, how long was you first stay in Canada? your single entry was valid for how many weeks/months?

When I applied for tourist visa, it took 12 business days. They process your application only from Mon-Friday (Business days). Holidays and weekends are not included.

How long did you stay in Canada? how many weeks/months did the officer in POE stamp in your passport?

I have almost the same situation as fromcanadawithlove.
My girlfriend annulment case is taking forever its been 2yrs now since she filed for annulment.
She was secretly married to someone else but did not live together as a couple.
When i met her there was no communication left between her and her husband.
We been dating for 4yrs now and have a 2yr old son together. I cant wait for the annulment case anymore, i was wondering if a temporary resident visa will work in our situation. Need advice badly
