visitor visa from paris for canada

Did anyone apply visitor visa for Canada from Paris? I am an Indian. I live in Spain and I applied for visitor visa in Paris. On 30th june 2012 embassy received my application. Till now I don´t have any answer. I don´t have any sponsership but I have hotel booking. Can I track my application and how? How much time they will take for processing and how will they return passport from Paris to Spain?
Anyone who has this type of experience pls share with me.
