Hello,

please I have a question if someone can help.
My girlfriend is planning to visit me in Canada for 1 month, she lost her job 1 month ago so she is currently unemployed. However, I have an excellent job in Montreal and I can easily sponsor her financially. my question is if I present an official sworn affidavit (along with the invitation letter) with the visa application stating that she will come back to her country before the visa expiry date, would this be an alternative to an employment letter?? and if anyone has new experience with visitor visa processing, how can we increase the chances of getting the visa?

I really appreciate any help,
Thank you all...

In fact what you are planning to do might backfire because an unemployed gf who can be sponsored by a guy in Canada is a red flag for CIC => "he wants to get her to the country, marry her and overstay"... be careful.

The very first thing is that you have to show CIC that she ON HER OWN would not be staying in Canada. After that is solved then you can add a letter of invitation will your bank statement and id document to invite her. Your invitation or anything you can say is SECONDARY, she has to prove BY HERSELF that she will have the means to go back to Canada and has no reason to stay EVEN if you don't sponsor her.

So what she can do for example if she doesn't have a proof of employment at the moment?

I don't know her specifics, she has to prove she is unlikely to overstay. Some common documents are: a healthy savings account, proof of school enrollment, lease agreement, property documents, proof of steady income, mortages, loans, etc.

Think of what she can show based on her specifics.
