Hi everyone...was hoping for an answer to a question related to applying for a spouse's visa.

This is related to my friend who is a PR. what are the chances that his wife will get a visitor visa?
Should he apply for a sponsorship for her first and then apply for visitor visa? or should he just wait till she arrives here and then apply for a sponsorship for her?

Thanks!

Her chances at a visit visa are slim to none (unless she is visa-exempt). The chances either way (of your two proposed options) are about equivalent. They would have been greater if they had applied for visit visa before they were married. BTW, what was your friend's marital status when he "landed" as PR?

so is it best to apply for sponsor spouse rather than applying for visitor?
why getting Visitor visa is hard after the sponsor become PR?

Hi @truesmile . Sorry to hijack this thread but on your point about “what was your friends marital status when he landed?” i have a question. I will be applying for spousal sponsorship in dec 17. My spouse already declared me on the express entry app as unaccompanying. So my name is already on my spouse’s COPR. Do you think I will be able to get a vistor visa approved if i apply in march?
