Would appreciate advice especially from senior members.

Hubby and I got married in Feb this year. To date, we are still in the process of putting together all required forms, supporting docs, etc with regards to Family Sponsorship. I have 2 kids who will also be going with me and are part of the family sponsorship. Meanwhile, hubby's family in Canada will be having a reunion with his sibs and their mother during the 1st week of August. Also hubby will be celebrating birthday on September. We're talking about applying for a Visitor Visa for me. The plan is for me to be able to leave first part of August and return to Manila after his birthday, probably a return flight by 25 September. Another reason (the main one, in fact :) ) for me going there is to help him get organized his place. He is with his brother and both are bachelor all their lives, except now that my dear hubby is of course already married :). They are in a 4-bedroom house plus basement for around 2 decades now. Both loves to read and books are everywhere. They also love music and dear hubby have at least a dozen guitars and other musical instruments. Dear hubby has a good job as a system network specialist. Not only that he goes to work full time, he is also on-call anytime.

As for me, I do not have a full time job for about 4 years now. Since I got pregnant with my youngest and he is now 3 years old. My eldest is 15 years old and incoming grade 10. As much as I would like to work full time again, it's really quite difficult because I have no one else to take care of my toddler. And now, all the preparations needed on the sponsorship. Though I am not working full time per se, I do multitask every single day. Being a single parent is definitely a challenge.

As mentioned earlier, I would very much appreciate any advice. I don't really intend to leave my 2 kids for about 2 months. But since dear hubby is having a birthday on September, I might as well just stay until after that. Hubby dear is Filipino but already Canadian citizen for 2 decades now. I have talked to my mother and she agreed to stay with my 2 kids but only for the period that I already mentioned. She is also one busy lady taking care of other grandchildren and cannot really stay longer to take care of my 2 kids.

Should I really take the chance of getting a visitor visa for now? What do you think is my chance to get granted?

Thank you all in advance.

You can try although it is not easy. The big thing to stress is that you have to return home to care for your children. The length of the trip you are requesting is also very long. Consider shortening it.

Thank you Sous2. I'm also thinking of maybe delaying the planned visit until after our application for family sponsorship is sent out. It may be a good factor as we will definitely not do anything that will jeopardize said sponsorship application.
