Hello,

If someone who was deported from USA(for any reason) more than 8 years ago. Has been living in his/her home country and got married and changed his/her last name. Got a brand new passport, not a renewed passport. Can that person get a visitor visa for a holiday vacation with his or her spouse?

Thanks,

They can certainly apply. They will have to declare their US deportation in their application for a visitor visa to Canada.

Just to add to Scylla's reply....

The applicant must disclose that s/he was deported from the US. Failure to disclose this fact could result in a ban for 5 years from entering Canada due to misrepresentation.

Also, regardless of getting married/name change/brand new passport..... the applicant must disclose all previous names (nicknames, maiden names, alias) in the TRV application form

To add to the responses above if your deportation was based on criminality then you are likely inadmissible and should not waste your time and money with a visa application before you get a waiver. Since getting a waiver depends on the offence and if 'enough time/rehabilitation' has passed since the offence then again you may be wasting your time and money needlessly.
